Page updated Where to See Christmas Lights I even told them how hard we'd worked for that photo.Chasing Vegas Christmas lights? You're at the right place. But I was so upset about spending all day preparing for a photo I couldn't take, I just can't give them a higher rating. If you have the money, and don't go when it's so cold, it might be worth it. The decorations were great, but we couldn't stay long because it was too cold. We rode on a train and went on a big slide, the kids did a bike race, and we played mini golf. How hard would it be to give people the chance to take their own picture for their entrance money? I've never seen anything like it in three states at so many Santa places. For a charity they are very uncharitable. We get through the line and I get my camera ready, and they not only would let me take a picture, I couldn't video tape my kids talking to Santa this year. We dressed all of them up to get our annual picture with Santa taken, and braved the coldest night of the year to go. The cost for that many wristbands is astronomical. We have five kids and an exchange student. Make sure you hand them your tickets one at a time so they don't accidentally scan two at once and if you go at Halloween- get your bag and your map. Hopefully they train their volunteers better and we will stick to going at Christmastime. I understand they probably do have people scam them so I shouldn't take it personally but I feel like it is worse to treat innocent children as criminals than to just give them candy. That's a lot of money to pay to then scam opportunity village out of $.50 worth of candy. We bought extra tickets for the train and ended up paying $98. There weren't a lot of stations, seems like a lot of work to get a few pieces of candy. After we made it half way through the "forest" those giving out candy straight up accused us of trying to go through twice. We brought our own and didn't notice they were giving them out. We get that worked out and were never given trick or treat bags. First I bought my tickets ($82 for 5 people) and the person held all the tickets at once as she scanned and told me one of my tickets had previously been scanned. Understanding most of the people helping are volunteers we had some hiccups this visit. I know this is such a great cause but I was a little disappointed. ![]()
